Our story
Founded by Sofia Lourinho in 2023, Isaga is a Portuguese bag brand, handcrafted and responsibly made with high-quality leathers and fabrics.
Our delicately structured essence breathes a timeless, urban inspiration and hand-finished products, but always with an unlikely touch of combinations and contrasts of textures, colors and materials. Isaga combines artisanal skill with modern functionality.
We were born overlooking the city of Lisbon, in the same studio as the century-old Sapataria do Carmo - one of the most iconic and charismatic stores in Chiado - where we learned everything about genuine leather and attention to detail. After years of walking around the city with history on our feet, the time has come to - literally - get your hands dirty, grab your wallet and enjoy the city.
Isaga’s story begins long before the idea of creating a wallet brand.
This story actually begins in my childhood. When I was 10 years old, I saved every penny of my first allowance to buy bags and purses. And when I was 16, I had a closet with more bags than t-shirts. I probably had more than 50 and was always on the lookout for new finds. At the time, I didn't really know what this was. Today, I know that it's my passion.
Twenty years later, it was in footwear, with Sapataria do Carmo, that I learned everything about craftsmanship and expertise in working with leather, and with this I was always able to improve my aesthetic and creative vision in a natural way. Isaga is the cherry on the cake where I can consolidate my passion, dedication and dream of making our bags an object of desire, valued for their quality and design.

ISA(BELA) + GA(BRIELA)
In some way, I wanted the brand to be an ode to the women who have always inspired me.
Isabela and Gabriela are the names of my twin daughters. They changed my life, they are my great passion and represented the beginning of a great adventure. Deep down, I would like this passion for the women in my life to translate the spirit of the brand where closeness and charm are much more than a beautiful and desirable object.
